BHCG Raises $15,000 for Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers
As a result of our successful second annual golf outing, On Course for The Clinic, we recently contributed $15,000 to the Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers to help support their mission. Many thanks to the golf participants and sponsors for making this contribution possible. Our entire community benefits from the great work done by this organization!
BHCG Campaign to Address the Medically Homeless Begins
Research has consistently shown the medically homeless – those without an established relationship with a primary care physician (PCP) – tend to seek care from higher cost options (e.g., emergency departments, urgent care facilities) and are less likely to have recommended health care screenings.
For BHCG member employers who have chosen to participate, UnitedHealthcare has identified plan members who are currently medically homeless. The campaign, consisting of three parts will address the:
- Importance of selecting a PCP
- Need to routinely obtain preventive care
- Value of seeking care in the most appropriate setting.
Plan members will receive information about these topics via home mailers and follow-up emails. These materials, along with a video, will be posted in the BHCG online communications library early next year. This campaign, as well as the existing campaigns, are free of charge to BHCG member employers.
