We held our fifth annual golf outing, On Course for the Clinic, at Ironwood Golf Course on August 18. More than 100 golfers enjoyed a great day on the course, raising more than $50,000 to benefit Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, a Milwaukee area-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Sixteenth Street is a vital part of the health care delivery system, filling a significant gap in access to primary health care for the underinsured in our community.
“Our fifth annual golf outing was our most successful yet. Our sponsors and attendees were truly motivated to raise money for this critical community resource and their generosity is greatly appreciated,” said BHCG Executive Director Jeff Kluever. Added Kluever, “The BHCG golf outings have now raised more than $150,000 benefiting Sixteenth Street.”
Sixteenth Street President and CEO Dr. Julie Schuller said, "We're grateful for the Business Health Care Group's ongoing support through their On Course for the Clinic golf outing. Every year, the proceeds are invested in the health and well-being of our patients who depend on us for high quality care. Together with partners like BHCG, we're building healthy families and communities."
Commented Dave Osterndorf, BHCG’s strategic consultant and chief actuary at Centivo (a BHCG strategic partner), “Both BHCG and Centivo understand the important role Sixteenth Street plays in the region’s health care delivery system. It serves patients who might otherwise end up in the emergency room or go without care, which ultimately drives up the cost of health care for everyone.”
In addition to Platinum Sponsor Centivo, Premier sponsors of the golf outing included, Gold Sponsor Greater Milwaukee Business Foundation on Health and Silver Sponsors Quantum Health, Navitus Health Solutions, the Milwaukee Business Journal and the Multhauf Foundation, Ltd.
