Upcoming events of interest

Two upcoming events should be of interest to our readers:

The BHCG will be conducting a program, Protecting the Future of Oncology Care – A Community Conversation on Wednesday, October 28 at Briggs & Stratton, beginning at 8:00 AM. With oncology care as a significant cost driver for employers’ benefit plans, the BHCG is working to better understand the current challenges, thoughts and opportunities that affect cancer care in the southeast Wisconsin market. This half-day program’s objectives, featuring a roster of national and local speakers, include:

  • Broadening diverse stakeholders’ understanding of the challenges and opportunities each faces in supporting patients with cancer and achieving the best possible health outcomes
  • Identifying steps that patients, clinicians, and purchasers can take to put patients on the best path, from diagnosis forward, while recognizing the needs and struggles of each
  • Discussing potential benefits of working together to realize care quality and affordability for patients and our community

It’s not too late to register for what promises to be a very informative morning.

The National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) will hold its 20th Annual Conference in Dallas, Texas on November 16-18. Entitled, Achieving Health Care Value: No Purchaser is an Island, the conference will feature industry experts who will share their insights on improving health outcomes and reducing excessive cost by benefit design, enhanced care management, payment reform and reducing waste.

The BHCG’s NBCH membership allows for all BHCG employers to have their registration fees waived for the conference. BHCG employers interested in taking advantage of this offer should contact Jennifer LaMere at jlamere@businesshealthgroup.org for registration details.

More information about the annual conference is available at the NBCH website.
