The BHCG reports performance scorecard results for first six months of 2015

The performance scorecard is intended to identify how the BHCG as a group and Humana are performing compared to baseline measures and benchmarks. Results for the first six months of 2015 compared to the first six months of 2014 include:

  • The Per Member Per Year allowed medical costs for self-funded employers declined 1.8% on an annualized basis.
  • In-network utilization for inpatient and outpatient hospital and physician services for self-funded members dipped slightly to 94.8 percent, from 95.3 percent. For fully-insured members in-network utilization, it also decreased from 97.5 percent to 95.8 percent.
  • Generic utilization of retail prescription drugs rose from 82 to 83 percent for self-funded employers and from 84 to 86 percent for fully insured employers.
  • Generic utilization of mail order prescription drugs rose from 81 to 84 percent for self-funded employers and from 82 to 86 percent for fully insured employers.
  • Member registration with MyHumana.com decreased slightly from 60.3 percent to 59.8 percent for self-funded employers (compared with 54.5 percent for Humana’s self-funded book of business) and increased from 51.5 percent to 55.4 percent for fully insured employers (compared with 48.8 percent for Humana’s fully insured book of business).
