Our seventh annual golf outing, On Course Fore Safe & Healthy Families, held at Ironwood Golf Course on August 15, was a great success! Despite the rainy conditions, more than 135 golfers and sponsors raised $40,000 to benefit Sojourner Family Peace Center, the largest nonprofit provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services in Wisconsin, serving more than 10,000 clients each year. Milwaukee-based Sojourner provides an array of support aimed at helping families affected by domestic violence achieve safety, justice and wellbeing.
The annual golf outing is yet another prime example of our unwavering commitment to responsible corporate citizenship. Everyone involved (sponsors, golfers, auction item donors and volunteers) was truly motivated to raise money for this critical community resource and their generosity is greatly appreciated. The BHCG golf outings have now raised more than $240,000 to benefit area nonprofits.
Sojourner President and CEO Carmen Pitre said, “We were honored to again be this year’s recipient of the BHCG’s Annual Golf Outing proceeds. Your support empowers survivors, strengthens families and promotes peace in our communities. Thank you, BHCG, for your substantial contribution to our organization.”
Said Dave Osterndorf, BHCG’s strategic consultant and chief actuary at Centivo (the event’s Platinum Sponsor and a BHCG strategic partner), “BHCG and Centivo recognize what a critical resource Sojourner is in this community. Their work contributes to survivors finding safety, hope and healing during an extraordinarily difficult time.”
In addition to Platinum Sponsor Centivo, Premier sponsors of the golf outing included the Milwaukee Business Journal, Navitus Health Solutions and Prevea Health.
