BHCG-Centivo High-Performance Health Plan Posts Positive Results for 2023; Membership in BHCG Continues to Grow

The BHCG-Centivo high-performance, primary care-centered health plan solution has gained considerable traction in the marketplace. Growth, both in terms of member employers adopting the plan and employee enrollment, has increased significantly. Driving this membership growth has been the outstanding performance of the health plan in 2023.

BHCG-Centivo High-Performance Health Plan Solution Results

Changes in how plan members sought out and accessed medical services through the BHCG-Centivo high-performance, primary care-centered health plan solution resulted in significant savings for BHCG member employers and their health plan members. This strong primary care physician-guided model is leading to long-term sustained cost savings for employers as plan members access more appropriate and preventive care. In 2023:

  • Total medical spending was 18% below benchmark of typical mid-size to large employer plans
  • Primary care visits per 1,000 were up 45%
  • Preventive visits per 1,000 were up 30%
  • ER and urgent care visits per 1,000 were down 30%
  • Inpatient admissions per 1,000 were down 17%.
