Taking the Lead

As the largest single source of health care coverage, employers are in a unique position to directly influence their local health care market for the benefit of all – employers, employees, dependents and the community.

BHCG membership gives employers a tangible way to demonstrate responsible corporate citizenship through increasing health care value and moving the market toward a more sustainable health care system featuring effective practice patterns and value-based pricing.

Taking the Lead

Collaborating to create a more sustainable health system

Direct dialogue with health systems and provider groups

  • Quarterly Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings with health systems and provider groups
  • Encouraging more effective practice patterns and value-based pricing

Data-driven strategies

Promoting transparency, identifying high and low value providers and services

In the absence of adequate information to create a consistent, robust and comprehensive model to evaluate health care value, BHCG has commissioned Aitia to conduct three statewide Physician Value Studies - in 2019, 2022 and 2025.

The results of the Physician Value Studies show the potential for very substantial cost savings through improved physician performance. BHCG and strategic partner Centivo used the results as the foundation to develop the BHCG-Centivo high-performance, primary care-centered health plan. The plan purchases health care for value and supports clinically integrated health care models and a fruitful dialogue between payers and the provider community.
