 alue Study (PVS 3.0) Identifies Significant Opportunities to Improve Healt
 h Care Value in Wisconsin\nStudies have shown a substantial amount of heat
 h care expenditures are for unnecessary or harmful care. A significant amo
 unt of this health care spending could be eliminated by improving physicia
 ns’ performance – even marginally. Benchmarking the real world results
  accomplished by better performers\, with the goal of spurring adoption of
  the approaches they have taken to patient care\, can lead to enhancements
  in value across the state.\n\nAs part of its mission to explore strategie
 s to contain health care costs\, the Business Health Care Group (BHCG)\, w
 ith generous support from sponsors Gates Ventures\, Centivo\, Baird and HP
 S/PayMedix\, commissioned a study to evaluate the value of care provided b
 y physicians throughout Wisconsin. As with previous versions of the Physic
 ian Value Studies\, PVS 3.0 demonstrated the potential for substantial cos
 t savings and quality improvement through enhanced physician performance. 
 BHCG believes it is essential to make these results available publicly as 
 a means to broaden awareness and encourage utilization of the results.\n\n
 BHCG invites you to one of a series of public events to be held from June 
 11 – June 13 in multiple locations across the state\, with an option for
  virtual attendance. The events will share the results of PVS 3.0. The stu
 dy\, using claims data available from the Wisconsin Health Information Org
 anization (WHIO):\n\n 	Assessed the comparative cost-efficiency and qualit
 y of care provided by Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) and the comparative c
 ost-efficiency of specialists who performed 11 high volume procedures.\n 	
 Supports health system performance improvement by making health system-spe
 cific and physician-specific results available to provider groups through 
 WHIO.\n 	Informs employer benefit program design to support better health 
 care decision-making\, particularly with respect to the steerage of patien
 ts to higher-value providers.\n 	Is used by Centivo to continually enhance
  its high-performance\, primary care-centered health plan exclusively for 
 BHCG member employers.\n 	Makes use of newly available data on Social Dete
 rminants of Health (SDoH) to understand the impact on differences in physi
 cian performance. SDoH data was not available for prior versions of the st
