2018 Annual Report
A letter from the Executive Director
2018 was a year of unparalleled successes for the Business Health Care Group (BHCG), highlighted by the identification of best in class strategic partners offering employer solutions, strong membership growth and cost results, our first annual golf outing to benefit Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers and an extension of our partnership with UnitedHealthcare® for medical plan administration. Cumulatively these efforts of responsible corporate citizenship continue to assist employers in providing competitive health care benefits and impact health care value in our region – both quality and cost.
BHCG continued to grow its membership in 2018. Here is a partial list of employers who joined us in 2018:
- Associated Banc-Corp.
- Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin, Inc.
- Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc.
- Kohler Co.
- Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C.
- School District of Elmbrook
- Sendik’s Food Markets
Slowing cost trend
Health care cost results from the third year of our partnership with UnitedHealthcare remain strong. By utilizing the UnitedHealth Premium® designation - Tier 1 program, employers are motivating employees and their dependents to seek care from high value providers. This yields cost savings for the employee and the employer, as well as improved health status for the employee.
Renewing and expanding employer solutions
BHCG and UnitedHealthcare joined forces three years ago to create accountability for both providers and consumers of health care services. Effective 1/1/19, this powerful partnership was renewed for another three years offering opportunities for BHCG member employers to benefit from preferred pricing, performance guarantees, dedicated and enhanced customer and clinical services and exclusive programs.
In 2018 BHCG expanded its portfolio of best in class strategic partners – selected because they align with our mission of improving the quality and cost efficiency of health care for our member employers, their employees and the community. Check out our numerous offerings on the employer solutions page on our website and in this annual report.
On course for the Clinic
On August 23 we held our first annual golf outing at Kettle Hills Golf Course. Through the generous support of the outing sponsors, golfers and auction item donors, we were able to make a $10,000 contribution to Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers. We also provided sponsorship support for their annual celebrity roast.
Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers provides high quality health care, health education and social services to more than 40,000 residents of the multi-cultural neighborhoods on Milwaukee’s South Side and in Waukesha annually. BHCG is proud to support the mission and work of the Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers.
With strong membership growth and an expanding portfolio of employer solutions, 2018 was a year of unparalleled success. If you want to learn more about BHCG, please feel free to contact me at 262-875-3312 or jkluever@BHCGWI.org
