Serving the Business Health Care Group in a New Role
From the Executive Director

Taking the helm as executive director of the Business Health Care Group (BHCG) on August 1st is an opportunity for me to work full-time on a long-held passion. I have been involved in the BHCG for more than a decade (since its inception) as a member employer representative. During that time I served on several leadership committees, including the Executive Steering Committee.

For those of you that don't know me, most recently I served as senior director - risk and benefits management at Journal Media Group, Inc. (formerly Journal Communications), an organization where I spent nearly 30 years leading its health care strategy.

Currently I also serve on the board of directors of the Greater Milwaukee Business Foundation on Health (GMBFH), a private operating foundation that works collaboratively with other organizations to improve health and health care delivery in the greater Milwaukee area.

My primary focus will be on growing the organization, both in southeast Wisconsin and in our new expansion area of 11 counties in the northeast. Working with our administrative partner, UnitedHealthcare, we will continue to emphasize and add to the strong value proposition we offer our member employers.

I hope to see many of you at our annual BHCG meeting, which is open to the public and being held on October 26 from 8:00 – 11:00 am at Discovery World. Please watch for an email invitation or check our website for a link to registration coming soon – you won’t want to miss out on this engaging program.

Entitled Walking in Unison – A Celebration of Success, the morning will feature a keynote address and an interactive discussion panel to look at notable successes on a number of levels – including individual employers strategies and ways to improve plan performance, as well as our collective efforts and impact on the market and community.

I look forward to working with our members, brokers and consultants, sponsoring organizations and strategic partners to continue to drive the market toward improved health care value. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at 414-433-4719 x1 or at jkluever@BHCGWI.org.
