Membership Minute

In this edition of the Membership Minute we provide information about our 2016 fees, report on our updated membership numbers and welcome new employer groups who joined us in August and September 2015.

Fees for BHCG employers set for 2016

The BHCG Executive Steering Committee has set the membership fee for 2016 at $15.00 per eligible participant. We are pleased to announce 2016 represents the third year the membership fee has remained at $15.00 per eligible participant.

As in the past, an eligible participant is an active employee eligible to take your organization’s sponsored health plan offering, even if they choose not to enroll. The employee needs to reside or work within the 11 eligible counties of Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha.

A retiree is also considered an eligible participant if they are enrolled in your organization’s sponsored health plan offering (this does not have to be the BHCG-sponsored UnitedHealthcare network, effective 1/1/16) and residing within the 11 eligible counties noted above. If a retiree waives coverage, a participation fee does not need to be paid. A “company sponsored plan” is defined as a plan that requires the employer to file a Form 5500.

Our self-funded members that wish to maintain BHCG Legacy Employer status for ASO services in 2016 and 2017 will need to maintain active membership in the BHCG. As a Legacy Employer, you will retain your right to partake in the UHC partnership with full BHCG benefits in terms of access to exclusive offerings, higher service levels and BHCG pricing. Self-funded employers that choose not to transition to UHC, but were members of BHCG as of January 1, 2015, will still retain Legacy Employer status with an active 2016 membership, in the event they wish to revisit the opportunity.

We firmly believe the BHCG has delivered significant value for our members and the community at large and we look forward to continuing to do so in 2016 with the transition to UnitedHealthcare and our new strategic direction. Invoices will be mailed in November and payment is due January 8. If you have any questions or concerns about your membership fees, please feel free to contact Joleen at 414-858-2311, ext 2 or at
