BHCG Vendors Offer UnitedHealthcare Transition Support

In anticipation of the transition to UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and the UHC Choice Plus Advanced product in 2016, two of the Business Health Care Group (BHCG) preferred vendors – consulting firm, Towers Watson and communications partner, The Write Source – are offering specific support services to BHCG member employers.

Rx Collaborative

To maximize the value of employers’ pharmacy benefit, Towers Watson will provide access to its PBM coalition – the largest in the country – and its purchasing power. Rx Collaborative offers employers financial value, operations and account management oversight and review of new programs through its two premier PBM partners, Express Scripts and Caremark. Features of the program include:

  • A template contract with proprietary definitions, performance guarantees and fee exhibit,
  • Data-driven solutions and
  • A data warehouse that includes reporting and benchmarking.

Stop Loss Purchasing Program (SLPP)

The SLPP features four insurer partners: Berkley Accident & Health, Voya, Sun Life and Symetra that offer employers stop loss premium rates that are at least equal to, if not better than, rates available in the open market and also includes:

  • Better contract terms
  • A streamlined RFP process
  • A database of stop loss rates for benchmarking
  • Leverage with vendors to address service problems

Benefit Implementation Audits

Towers Watson is offering benefit implementation audits for employers making the transition to UHC that will include:

  • A desktop review of the employer’s plan documents to verify accuracy and confirm consistency with plan designs and UHC system programming
  • Claim scenario testing of plan benefits and provisions
  • An evaluation of online client plan reference materials used by claim and customer service personnel to confirm consistency and accuracy

Employers making the transition to the UHC tiered benefit strategy are being offered benefits communication assistance.
