A Look Back and a Look Forward
Executive Director’s Report

With the end of the year approaching, now is a good time to reflect back on 2015 and look forward to 2016. Since I came on board in late March we have been extremely busy with, among many other things, the transition to UnitedHealthcare as our administrative partner. I would be remiss, however, if I didn’t acknowledge the wonderful job Humana has done as our administrative partner Humana for the past 10 years.

While the decision to change in 2016 to UnitedHealthcare is a better strategic fit for our organization’s future path, we are grateful for the work Humana has done and the outstanding programs and services they have provided to our organization. We have accomplished a great many things together during our collaboration; our employer members, their employees, and the entire southeast Wisconsin health care marketplace is better for it.

With 2016 rapidly approaching, we are busy working to ensure a smooth transition to UnitedHealthcare for our existing members while making certain our new members are fully integrated into our group. We are excited about our partnership with UnitedHealthcare. They have a number of unique products and services that will greatly benefit our members. See the UnitedHealthcare Partnership column for a couple of prime examples of their forward-looking products.

One important point should not get lost in this transition to UnitedHealthcare: Current BHCG members – both fully insured and self-funded – can remain members our group even if they choose not make the switch to UnitedHealthcare now. We understand not every member can make the switch now and some may choose never to make it. That shouldn’t dissuade them from remaining members of the BHCG to take advantage of all the benefits of membership.

As always, thank you for your support this year and warmest greetings for the holiday season and best wishes for health and happiness in the New Year!
