Upcoming events of interest

Four events scheduled over the next several months should be of interest to our readers:

The BHCG Annual Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday morning, September 30 from 8:00 – 11:00 AM.  The event, to be held at the Italian Community Center, will feature a keynote address by Dr. Roger Merrill. Their strategy, including onsite clinics, a rigorous, science-based wellness program and value-based insurance design, resulted in:
• Health care costs at half the national average and;
• Measurably improved health status of employees.

This half-day program’s objectives include:

  • Broadening diverse stakeholders’ understanding of the challenges and opportunities each faces in supporting patients with cancer in achieving the best possible health outcomes
  • Identifying steps that patients, clinicians, and purchasers can take to put patients on the best path, from diagnosis forward, while recognizing the needs and struggles of each
  • Discussing potential benefits of working together to realize care quality and affordability for patients and our community.

Look for more information about this program, along with registration information, in mid-September.
