UHC Communications Toolkit

As we reported in the June edition of The Catalyst, the BHCG and its communications partner, The Write Source, have been working with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) to develop an effective package of materials employers can utilize to communicate the new programs related to the move to UHC, effective January 1, 2016. Since then, we have utilized the help of four employers that have served in a focus group role to review the materials. The feedback as a result of that process has allowed us to further fine tune the materials and we are now very close to releasing what we are calling the Communications Toolkit.

Using a variety of media, the Toolkit will include consumer-friendly, customizable/branded communication materials that employers can use during open enrollment and throughout the year to engage and support their employees about UHC programs and services. The Toolkit will include:

  • Communications strategy calendar with links to suggested multi-media employee communications materials
  • Several pieces describing UHC’s premium designation (Tier 1) program
  • A digital magazine format which will allow for convenient, efficient browsing and access to all the materials including printed pieces and videos
  • Access to UHC’s Communications Resource Center which contains easy-to-use resources that help employers encourage employees to get the most out of their benefit plan while motivating them to take a more active role in their health
UHC’s Field Account Managers will be working with their employer clients to help them effectively use the Toolkit materials within their own communication strategy. sWatch for more information soon about the availability of the Toolkit.
