BHCG chooses Best Doctors as its Informed Decision Making initiative vendor
After a rigorous selection process, the BHCG chose Best Doctors, Inc. of Boston, MA as its Informed Decision Making vendor in March. Founded in 1989 by doctors affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Best Doctors helps individuals and their treating physicians make sure they have the right diagnosis and the right treatment plan. More than a traditional second opinion, Best Doctors delivers a comprehensive evaluation of a member’s medical condition while promoting consumerism, reducing unnecessary utilization and yielding better outcomes.

BHCG staff will be reaching out to all self-insured members to discuss individual member implementation plans. In addition, Humana has committed that all of their fully insured HPN customers will have access to the program at no additional cost. It is anticipated fully insured and self-insured employers will be able to implement the program beginning September 1.

As integration and implementation plans are developed, look for more information about this unique program made available exclusively for BHCG member employers.

Now available MyHumana Mobile
Are you a smartphone user? Do you search the web on your phone? Do you text? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you – and your employees – should consider downloading the award-winning MyHumana Mobile app. With MyHumana Mobile you can:

MyHumana Mobile gives you and your employees three ways to access health care information using your smartphone:

  • To search the web, login to m.humana.com from your mobile device using your MyHumana User ID and Password
  • If you’re an iPhone or Android user, go to the app site and search “Humana” to download the application from your smartphone store.
  • Receive text alerts and check spending account balances by:
    • Logging in to MyHumana
    • Go to My Profile
    • Click on “Manage My Mobile Number and Alerts.” After you are enrolled, text “BAL” to HUMANA (486262) to get account balances

ePlanCompass reporting from Humana – analysis your way
Want to take your PlanCompass report from a static document to an interactive tool? ePlanCompass may be the answer! Available since last fall to all self-insured groups, fully insured groups with 100+ employees and your broker, this unique self-service, online interactive tool allows you to obtain instant answers to your questions. With ePlanCompass you have the ability to drill down into any subset of your data to get the answers you need to effectively manage your health care benefit offerings. Information includes:

  • Executive summary of your member composition, utilization patterns and clinical cost drivers
  • Demographic profile
  • Delivery system use
  • Large claimants
  • Claims strata
  • Disease & illness
  • Cost share
  • Pharmacy

ePlanCompass also provides capabilities not available in the previous static version of the report. Now you can:

  • Cut and paste charts and graphs from ePlanCompass into Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Export tables into Excel for further analysis
  • Save as Adobe files

While on the ePlanCompass portal you also have the ability to view and print PlanCompass Reports and download your census data to verify that your submitted eligibility changes have been processed.*
